Stop/Slow takes the audience into a recruitment session for new traffic flaggers, with a deeply committed veteran at the helm. Through clownesque humor paired with the intensity of a dedicated professional, we learn basic flagging signals and what discoveries are possible in a stop.”

The Ex-Body is a one man show based on the first three pages of the text “The Hamletmachine” by Heiner Mueller. Conceived and choreographed by Fabio Tavares this show was designed to be a multi-disciplinary show where theatre, performance, and dance clash together on stage to support the deep physical needs of the text and the author's visceral desire to voice the human paradox. A version of it was premiered in 2010 and since then versions of it have been performed in Brazil, Europe, and the US. This piece is a collaboration between Fabio Tavares and sound designer Jack McGuire.

BlueBeardGasLight is the story of a folklorist obsessed with nursery rhymes, fairy tales and other children’s ephemera. In this piece, the folklorist and her husband are working on anthologizing some fairy tales, including “Blue Beard.” In their process, the couple use the toys in their children’s abandoned nursery to do “embodied research” on the darker aspects of the tale that are too murky for them to discuss in daylight. The puppets, aka the “moveable objects,” include a doll house, two dolls inspired by japanese cart–puppetry, and a live-feed video component that exists in an imaginative space, out of time, revealing the miniature people and things inside the dollhouse, where the secret chamber becomes a metaphor for the secrets we all keep.
